How to use MidiMapper for Audigy 2ZS and settings

I had another question open on Midi problems in this TA for my Yamaha PSR - 550 and realized that I needed to ask many more questions than I did.  I had multiples 'issues' and after the item was closed and awarded, added a new request on how to configure and map MIDI devices specific to my hardware and use in Adobe Audition, thus this question.

Still no sounds when I'm not doing a loopback or trying to create a MIDI recording from the Yamaha PSR-550 and all other issues did not resolve this.  So, this new question with added needs.

For my second question in the first question, lol (save me from myself)!  After the question was already closed, got help I'll paste here, since it's not directly associated with the original question...

Cut/Paste below to continue on this new problem...

"map your midi file"

Asta, if you look at http://www.wintrouble.net/filepool/picture.jpg  open in new window.
you'll see in the device box an arrow that you cna change from ( No Output To You Audigy )
Choose you sound audigy, Click OK

Click the "S" for solo and you should be able to hear the midi from there.

I appreciate the help here, badly need it.

I'll check the link and image you posted for me and get back.

I'm still confused about my Midi Mapping, since I don't see those options anywhere in my setup (yet) ... but haven't had much time today.

I still have the cabled 'looped' from the Audigy front ports (port 2) with the same cable looped the IN to the OUT, still have the Yamaha PSR-500 Keyboard disconnected from the setup.  Also, just found out today what the Keyboard model is.  Sent a note to Yamaha, didn't find much on their site about the setup options for it.

Thanks, Bud, for hanging in there with this novice so much wanting to not purchase more gear and make this work.

This was the response from CreativeLabs just now on the Audigy 2ZS Platinum card to my many previous queries....
"If the loop test is working then there has to be a setting on your keyboard that is not enabled. The loop test shows that the MIDI is being sent from the card and being looped back and received by the MIDI in port.  If this is not happening with the keyboard then there is
a brake down in communication in the cable or the keyboard. I would try changing the channel the keyboard is on and sending to it.
or if you have it set the keyboard to MIDI omni were it will accept all channels at once."

Not making sense to me, but will read it when my mind clears and try some of what you've shown and they said in Adobe Audition.

Within the Creative files I have Sound Font Manager as well as MediaSource Player.  As I did all the tests of existing MIDI files while loop in place, and KB out of the configuraiton, all MIDI sounds worked in MediaSourcePlayer (with Sound Font Manager loaded) as well as with Media Player 10.

Update from CreativeLabs Tech Support (I really like their responsiveness, by the way).
Dear Asta,

It may be necessary to obtain a compatibility lists for the cards or products the Midi keyboard is designed or has been tested to work with.
If there is a way to disable the requirement of SMTP you may be able to properly use the keyboard in conjunction with the unit.

Waiting to hear from Yamaha about the PSR-500.  Manual not available and just not enough known about it.

Listening for help.

Did the midi play??

All Midis now play, used the Midi Mapper, configured Adobe Audition's "Set Controller 7" option from 100 to 117, and can hear all MIDI
sounds, just haven't yet tried to record again from the Keyboard.  Your info and image helped, thanks.

Within Audition I have thgis as MIDI Input device options .... the Midi KB will be attached to ports 2 on the front panel (in and out)
sb Audigy 2ZS Midi IO (B400) as 1st device and
Midi Mapper as second device

Within Audition the Midi Output selections I made were
1st SB Audigy 2Zs Synth B (B400)
2nd SB Audigy 2ZS Midi IO (B400)

Available and not selected for Midi Out are
SB Audigy 2ZS SW Synth (B400)
SB Audigy 2ZS Synth A (B400)
Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth
Midi Mapper.

That's all I know so far.  About to shutdown and try plugging the KB in.

Gads, this should be so much easier and should make more sense to me, but so far really doesn't.  To me, "B" = 2 and "A" = 1, but even that doesn't make sense.

Thanks, Bud.

Thanks, I'll try this next week.  I hate the inconvenience of using the back when the front is so much closer to the KB and have an injury, but will try.

I'll close this and get back when I can.

Thanks, Bud.
