Konica Minolta Bizhub Pro 6500 Scan to email issue

I have a client who has a Konica Minolta bizhub Pro C6500 copier.
The copier also has a Fiery connected to it for networking.

I have configured the copier to be able to print from a PC on the network.  The network is a basic peer to peer network managed by a modem/router.
I am having trouble connecting the scan to email functionality in that the emails do not get received at the PC.

I have tried Scan to Email, Scan to SMB and Scan to FTP and neither are successfuly received.  From the copier it says in the log that the jobs are complete and no errors.

With scan to email, I have set the optusnet mail IP address as the SMTP server (Optusnet are their provider) and used their main Optusnet email address as the machines email address.  From experience, these are usually necessary to allow emails to be sent from a copier to a PC.  

Can anyone else assist in helping me resolve this issue

If you are still having problems, you might need to install a mail relay on one of the pcs http://emailrelay.sourceforge.net is a good free one.
