HP Printer OfficeJet Pro 8500: Paper Jam error
Say, this printer displays insistently on the LCD screen the following error message : "Paper jam. Clear jam and then press OK". We have inspected every possible removable part of the printer that we can locate and cannot see any paper or any particles jamming the printer. Any suggestions welcome.
This is normally caused by 1 of 2 reasons.
A small scrap of torn paper in a spot that is not easily seen. Best way to dislodge this is to take a standard file folder, Take on half of it , cut off the label tab and manually feed it through the feed path.
The other reason is that dust has accumulated on one of the sensors. Try blowing out the feed path with compressed air.

Any further suggestions please?
If you cleared all the paper out, AND if you removed / reinserted the double sided attachment (picky) and it continues not to work, then either:
1. There is paper in there somewhere OR
2. There is a printer hardware problem.
I had an HP8500 and could always clear with the methods above.

Any idea if HP will repair this as production fault - out of warranty already...
i doubt it very much; but it does not hurt calling them
Now turn the printer on and test.
