Okay, this worked so far and now I can get connected to an IP address and default gateway from my provider.  I can ping both the IP and GW addresses, however, I cannot see any web pages.  I get the 'page not found' error.  Any ideas?

Thanks,
Do your internal hosts have your ISP's DNS servers in their TCP/IP configuration?  Make sure they do if not already.

Yes, they all have the IPS DNS servers in the TCP.  I tried to open a web page with an IP address and got the same error.

They have a default gateway of 192.168.1.40 right?  Can you ping your ISP's DNS servers?

Can you ping www.yahoo.com?

Can you ping 216.109.117.110 (yahoo)

Try also doing a traceroute to 216.109.117.110 and see how far it gets.

I tried everything above and it works.  I can even receive my email so I'm thinking I have an http issue??  It appears that the web browser finds the web site but nerver gets the information back to me.  Is there something in the router I have to configure for http?
No, you don't have to configure anything, the only thing on the router that would stop you from receiving http traffic would be an access-list blocking inbound http but I don't see an access-list in your configuration.  Are you running a firewall anywhere, on the PC or somewhere else that could be blocking it?  Do you have another PC you could try?

ASKER

I don't have a firewall in the configuration at this time.

I am getting the same results with three PC's; 2 running IE and 1 running Linux Mozilla browser.

The only access-list on the router is for the dialer traffic.
Try the following sites:

http://www.google.com

http://www.msn.com

http://www.yahoo.com

If those don't work, I'm stumped.  You're router configuration looks good.  It has to be something on the PC's although 3 not working is extremely hard to believe.  No proxy settings or anything like that right?

Can you post the following from one of the PC's:

From a command prompt:

ipconfig /all

route print

JFrederick29,

I just found the last problem, it seems that there has to be another command in the dialer interface.  See below, I added:

ip tcp adjust-mss 1452

reference:     http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk175/tk15/technologies_tech_note09186a0080093bc7.shtml#pppoemtu

and it started working.  I really appreciate all your help, I could not have resolved this issue without you.

Many thanks,
Benje02

 ip tcp adjust-mss 1452
 no ip mroute-cache

Good job.  I'll put that in my memory banks.  Thanks!
