The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Sorry if I'm wrong, but did you mean PDF's instead of PDA's in your question?

Or do you mean send documents from a PDA device through the HP Digital Sender 9100c and receive them in their Exchange mailbox?

HP Digital Sender 9100C - MS Exchange LDAP Directory Configuration

In this document:
 Overview

 Export MS Exchange Directory

 Modify the exported directory information

Import modified MS Exchange Directory Data

Configure Custom Attribute field for LDAP queries

 Configure Digital Sender LDAP Authentication

 Configure Digital Sender LDAP Server

Overview
This procedure describes a custom attribute field for each MS Exchange mailbox that will disseminate the Domain User name of the NT user account for that user. This allows the HP Digital Sender 9100C to retrieve this information and allow users to logon to the Digital Sender using their NT username and password.

Export MS Exchange Directory

Open the MS Exchange Administrator application.

Select Tools and Directory Export.

Select the Container, then browse to the correct site. Select Recipients.

In Export Objects section, place a check mark in Mailbox and uncheck all others.

Select Export File, then select the destination directory and filename. Then select Export.

Modify the exported directory information

Open the exported .csv file.

Select the Primary Windows NT Account column and copy and paste the contents to the first empty column.

In new column, change the Primary Windows NT Account to Extension-Attribute-1.

Then highlight entire column; select Edit, then Replace.

Replace \ with : and then select Replace All.

Save file as type .csv.

Import modified MS Exchange Directory Data

Open the MS Exchange Administrator application.

Select Tools, then Directory Import.

Select the Container, then browse to the original export container.

In the Account Creation section, deselect all options.

Select Import File, then browse to the edited file.

Select Import, then select OK.

Configure Custom Attribute field for LDAP queries

In the MS Exchange Administrator application, highlight Configuration in the object tree.

In the right panel, double-click DS Site Configuration.

Select the Attributes tab.

In the attributes list, put a check mark in the Custom Attribute 1 checkbox, then select OK.

Stop and Restart the MS Exchange services.

NOTE: Restarting the MS Exchange services must only be performed once.

Configure Digital Sender LDAP Authentication

Connect to digital sender using a supported Web browser. Example: http://ipaddress:4242

Browse to Settings and then Authentication in left sidebar menu.

In the NT User Domain ID field, enter Extension-Attribute-1.

Select Apply.

Configure Digital Sender LDAP Server

Browse to Settings, then Connections, then LDAP in left sidebar menu.

Enter the Exchange Server IP address in LDAP Server IP Address field.

Select Apply.
