I found the solution. The preview image was corrupt, after deleting it the scanner works again.<br />

The file can be found here:<br />
C:\Documents and Settings\****\Application Data\EPSON\ESCNDV\ES0052\F<wbr />ULL.bmp<br />
where **** is your profile name. Delete FULL.bmp<br />
<br />
After a few hours of looking I post here, 5 minutes later I find the solution. <br />
Hope this helps others with the same problem.<br />
