The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Help this novice please.....

Our Network is very simple: Internet --> ISA--> LAN-->1. PDC  , 2. BDC, 3. Exchange and clients (<30)
All servers are Win 2003 Standard
1. PDC : AD, DNS, DHCP ..etc. 2. without DNS and DHCP only replicting AD from PDC....

Last week suddently our PDC Hard Disk Crash (No Raid or Mirror even no any Backup).
So Start to run the network from BDC, But there was no dns then i configured DNS there.. With the much problems. Any how our some network services were running with the limitations. for clients i gave static iIP.Inthis BDC the DNS giving more errors and warnings in event viewer, specillay

Computer:      GBDC-SRV
Description:
The DNS server has encountered a critical error from the Active Directory. Check that the Active Directory is functioning properly. The extended error debug information (which may be empty) is "". The --event data contains the error.
-----or----
Event Type:      Warning
Computer:      BDC-SRV
Description:
The DNS server was unable to connect to the domain naming FSMO GPDC-SRV.XXXXXX.COM. No modifications to Directory Partitions are possible until the FSMO server is available for LDAP connections. The event data contains the error code.
=============

While in this problem, i got the new Hard Drive (with RAID5) and installed the Win 2003 as before. But this time i gave the diffrent Computer name Instead GPDC-SRV as GPDCSRV (without hypen)
and gave the same static IP before. And configured the DHCP. as well as DCPROMO and DNS. But same in the new PDC also showing the Same DNS Errors. but Users and computers were replicated here without any problem.

So Please guide me how can i over come this problems apecially the DNS and AD.

And i want the Old PDC to be the real PDC agian and the services to be run perfectly with out any problem

Please...
