Hi,
I try to upgrade a Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition to an Enterprise Edition.
Here's what I have done and the problem :
- I reboot the Server with Enterprise Edition CD
- After 39 min the installation freezes (but we can move the mouse cursor)
Some solutions we have tried but the problem remains :
- Changing the RAM with an other brand
- Installing Windows Updates
- Replacing CD Rom Drive
- Removing Tape Reader
- Moving FSMO rules
- Upgrading PERC Firmware (RAID 5 driver)
- Updating BIOS
- Using a driver for the PERC at the boot of the system (after typing F6)
- No error messages in install logs
- We have formatted the hard drive : we can upgrade from standard to enterprise. (Then we go back to previous Hard Drive config with a Ghost).
Since there are many datas on this drive we can't reinstall all applications and copy all files. For the moment we conclude that it's a software problem.
A question : What's the difference between Standard Edition and Enterprise Edition about system files and registry keys ?
Thanks in advance for your help,
Regards,
