The Solution Rating System

Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. How to replace Mirror Drives

I am working on a Dell PowerEdge 2500 Server that is about 7 years old.  It has mirrored hot-swappable 36 gig Seagate ST336605LC SCSI Drives.  One drive has failed completely and I need to replace it and think that I should really replace both.  What is the best approach to do this?  Do I really need Matched drives?  I am not sure if I can even get this same drive anymore?  Would I replace one and rebuild the mirror and then replace the other and rebuild again?  How would I migrate to larger drives?Start Free Trial
