I have a Compaq/HP DL380 G3 Rack Server. I need to install a USB 2.0 PCI Card, as the server only has 1.0 USB ports. This is a necessity for a project that I am in the middle of. Anyway, I purchased two different USB 2.0 PCI cards, a startech.com and a zonet. The server itself does not have PCI slots, it has PCI-X slots. So I tried to install into the available PCI-X slots and the server does not recognize the hardware at all. The PCI-X slots on the server are on a riser cage. One slot is occupied by a Raid Controller Card, but the remaining two slots do not seem to appreciate either of my USB cards. I tried to disable a couple things in the BIOS, thinking maybe it was an IRQ problem, but still no results. Am I missing something? Are there any Compaq server gurus out there that have anything else I can try?
