Need recommendations for small start-up office - servers, PCs, etc..
My current office uses terminal services on Windows Server 2003. I know enough to sort of manage things, but I don't know anything about how to select & set-up equipment. I've been asked to find out pricing & make recommendations for a new startup nonprofit, so I need your help.
Initial needs: Small office with 3 staff people & task force committee members coming & going. I think having terminal services in my office is helpful, so people can work from home easily. Is that something I should consider for this office?
In a couple years: This will be a multi-disciplinary building with maybe 40 agencies represented. When we plan for their initial needs, should I keep this mind?
Questions:
- PCs vs. laptops?
- Hardware vs. wireless?
- Server
- Backups, etc...
Please make any suggestions pretty basic. I don't know enough to setup this office, but have agreed to do some research for them.
Thank you.

We do use TechSoup for our software & yes, it's great.
Multidisciplinary means there will be rep sfrom different social service & law enforcement agencies in the building sharing information. I may not be involved at that point & they'll definitely want someone with experience to set that up!
I'll probably get 2 laptops & 2 desktops. People may need to move them around the office. (I know it's a simplistic question, but I"m thinking out loud with a lot of this).
As for the server, I don't know anything about Small Business Server (and well, not much about servers at all - just that we have Windows Server 2003). Is one better than the other as far as expanding the office down the road?

Thanks for the info. Before I close the question, I just want to see what people say in response to this part of my question...
