whole system mirror with different hardware and network

Asked by PaperTiger in Computer Servers

we have a full set of servers sitting in a datacenter (Oracle, DC, SQL, Exchange, File server etc. all Windows based) on one subnet (192.168.0.x), . I have been asked to build a complete mirror set of servers using some of the spare servers in a different location (subnet) (192.168.0.x). we would like to be able to fail-over to the mirror set in the matter of 1 hour or so. The mirror set also need to carry the same IP addresses as the source servers.

I wonder if it can be done. If yes, what software and hardware would I need to do the replication? I am thinking some sort of vlan?
