HP Print Driver not Compatible to Windows Server - Other options ?

We purchased what I would call a cheapo printer that apparently was meant for more of a office workstation application. We need it to be networked through a Terminal Server so that our winterm clients can use it to print.

The problem is actually the drivers available for the HP deskjet 6940 are incompatible with Windows Server 2003.
Does anyone know a comparable driver that will run the HP deskjet 6940 and supports Windows Server 2003 ?
Also I read about a workaround where you disable the Windows policy that disallows installation of printers by using kernel-mode drivers. This worries me though from the warnings of instability.

I would appreciate the help.

Use the driver for HP Deskjet 694C that comes with Windows Server 2003.

Do the XP drivers not work? They sometimes do on a server 2003 machine.

I tried using the HP Deskjet 694C driver. It actually states on HP's site that the driver is included in Windows. So I tried to install the printer that way. After finishing I am getting failed print jobs.

In response to Goldsim : I tried installing the Windows XP driver and it cancelled itself in mid install when it realized it was incompatible to windows server 2003

The base generic diver that should work is the HP 4 Plus

you might want to try the deskjet 6840 series driver.

the hp laserjet 4 series drivers are either PostScript, PCL6 or PCL5, the DeskJet series is using PCL3 :)

Both drivers ended up working. I didn't realize the first one was worked because I found out that while I was testing someone had disconected the printer. I didn't know because I was working remotely.
