The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

I can access my site via IP address but I cannot the URL...however other people can access via URL!

I have a puzzle for you all.

I have a website I've been working on, and for some reason, I am not able to access my website via the URL...but I am able to access it via the IP address.

When I contacted the hosting company, they accessed it fine using the URL and directed me to my hosting company, in case there was some sort of block.  I spent an hour and a half with them trying every angle, using Windows XP, a Mac OSX and 3 different browsers...and bypassing the router, flushing the DNS, changed the security settings for the browsers, etc, etc.... NOTHING worked.

But then...inexplicably, things "fix themselves" for a short while and I able to use the URL.  Today, I could for a short time...but then later this evening, it was gone again.

When it doesn't work for me, I cannot perform a traceroute or ping the domain name...when things are working, I am able to.  At all times though, I can ping and traceroute and see the domain via the IP address.

Also...if I use something to cloak my domain...like Anonymouse...I am able to see the site just fine with the URL.

I'm in a rush to finish this site by the end of this week and I am at my wits end as to why I'm having this problem.  I figured there's a possibility also that if I'm having this problem, maybe someone else will too...and since this is to be a community building site, that's not good.

Tech support from Charter and my support from my hosting company was unable to help me.  Hopefully an expert here can.  :)

Has anyone here come across this phenomenon before?

The domain name in question is sanctuaryworld.com

Please help!
