Browse All TopicsHi we are looking to migrate from solaris (on sunfire 880, 32gb, 8 cpu) to linux. Can someone provide the equivalent linux hardware server spec that will have equal or greater performance. For example, xyz hardware will be equal, abc will be 50% faster etc.
I know the question is generic and a lot is based on one's apps, but just want some ballpark to further my research.
Thanks

why not try something like http://www.sun.com/servers /x64/x4600 /index.xml
it supports linux and vmware as well
you'd probably get close to 100% improvement on your general processing performance
