Connect RAZR V3xx to Computer
Can anyone tell me how to transfer programs from my laptop to my Motorola RAZR V3xx? I don't subscribe to data services, I would just like to be able to install apps on my phone... from my laptop.
BTW, my laptop detects the phone when I plug it into the USB port, but I don't know where to find a driver for it for XP.
Thank you.

Do I need to "unlock" the phone?
Well, I'd start with getting a copy of MPT. Here's the one I got: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000IVEQYW/105-6401235-2347623
Once you have it installed, you'll be able to access the phone, and you'll see all of the different actions you can take (sync, multimedia studio, etc). If you DO need to do anything additional, you'll see that the section for that activity is greyed out in the MPT window.
I don't think you'll need to get an unlock code from AT&T/Cingular for the phone.

when you connect the phone using the cable you will see it as a drive, unfortunately the folder contents will be unreadable. You will need the program MOTOROLA PHONE TOOLS to be able to read the data like pics and mp3,etc.

I got MPT... it works great.
The only thing I cannot do with it is move Java applets to the phone, but I will post another question about this. Thanks again.
