The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

The Grade of the Solution
The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
The Number of Author and Expert Comments
The Number of Experts Contributing
The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. How do I improve the quality of my work?

Many years ago I used to be a COBOL programmer. When I worked for a consultancy, I discovered how better life is working in a quality environment.
However the COBOL market crashed in 2001 and I had to fight back, financing my own training and doing unpaid work, and now I am an experienced C# ASP.Net developer.
But I have not worked in a quality environment.
Everywhere I have worked it has been about "get this through the door ASAP". I know what I want, I want to work in an Agile environment with a different ethos. But to be employed in an Agile environment you need Agile experience, it is not enough to read a book.
However I am now working on my own. No one knows or cares about the quality of my code, and in truth I probably have bad habits that I am not aware of.
Now I have done my research and tried to do what I can. I would love to do TDD, but I understand there is a learning curve, and I do not even have enough time to do unit testing, let alone TDD.
What advice would you give me to get out of this hole?
I guess there is no one right answer.
