installing windows xp pro x64

I have a HP tx2525nr and am fed up with vista.

I installed a 320gb sata drive i happened to have laying around.  It was completely new, out of the box (blank).  After testing it with seagate utilities, I proceeded to format it and then install windows xp pro x64 with a CD (store bought completely original).

For some reason, it doesn't want to install.  After booting windows setup, it loads all necessary DLL's, then tries to boot windows and actually get the installation process rolling, and I get this pathetic message:

*** STOP: 0x0000007B (0xFFFFFADF976323c0, 0xFFFFFFFFC0000034, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000)

What does this mean and how do I fix it?
