You need to use the BCC option (Blind Carbon Copy). On CC you can put whatever you want, your own email address for example.

This might be blocked by your email provider, sometimes they put limits on the number of destination addresses.

Also this might trigger multiple spam rules. So be aware that it may be blocked on the other end (you can not do anything about it, except reducing the destination address).

normally you would use software to do that for you - for example, phplist (which is free) will happily send to large numbers of recipients for you, in exactly that manner.

Hello Nasemabdullaa...

You should not use either BCC and / or word to send blast emails campaigns as your recipients won't most likely receive your email (most ISPs block mailouts coming from one single IP address in a burst). Whilst you can also easily get your IP address banned after one of the recipients reports you as spammer (result: you won't be able to send nor receive any emails on your domain!).

Also, you won't be able to personalize these emails - which means recipients won't most probably even bother reading them track who's opened your email, and won't either be able to make it look nice!

Best to use one specialized online application for that such as www.mailchimp.com which will allow you to import your data from Excel, is very good value and quite powerful... Mailchimp will let you import the txt file from your document, will allow you to quickly make a nice looking HTML and will also be extremely cheap...

The only alternative I can think of is to create the email in word, import the contact list as mailmerge and then use word to send your emails... However, this is fraught with dangers, as I mentioned above!

Good luck.

as I said, phplist is a dedicated mailing list send and management tool - its only misfeature (as far as I am concerned) is that there is no "unsubscribe" or "subscribe" mailing support, instead it uses a web based subs management interface (which you must expose to the internet if you want list members to self-manage their membership)

You could use a tool like ADR, its really simple to use and does not cost much. You build your recipinent list using a txt or csv file then using a mail client like Windows Mail or Outlook Express etc set your loopback address as the SMTP server and it will email out addressing each recipeint individually so there is no concern about BCCs and huge recipient envelopes. It supports burst handling so you are not going to kill your bandwidth also. Many of my clients have used this for things like notifiying clients about office moves etc and everyone seems to like it.
