Hello Everyone, my coworker gets this error when she is trying to inport an excel document using an application which does it automatically for her. I coded this application. It uses Free ASP Update as the program and the folder where the documents were saved had anonymous login by giving permissions to IUSR_MachineName... recently the database managers removed this permissions for security reasons, even though the program is on the Intranet, they thought this was not secure, because it meant anyone with a login to this application could do this, and a lot of people in this company have a login, in fact almost all employees... so since only one employee needs to import the Excel documents, we wanted HER and only HER to have the permissions to do it...
The Application is located on an INTRANET, in a folder called NG and inside that folder there's another folder called "Attachments." NG hold the whole application, while the "Attachments" folder holds only the imported Excel documents. Is there anyway that this one person can be given the correct permissions, rather than have anonymous permissions? If so how would we go about doing it? Would someone with administrative rights have to do it? I went it and I granted her permissions, however, I do NOT have administrative rights, now it shows as if she has permissions, while in reality I don't think she does because how can another use without administrative rights grant permissions? I am surprised that the computer even allowed me to do... Do you think this is the reason she does not have permissions, because I gave them to her, rather than wait for someone with administrative rights to giver her permissions only to the NG folder, since she should NOT be alllowed to access any of the other folders, there are quite a few of them, on our INTRANET? Or do you think there is something else going on here? Maybe something we missed?!?
Any ideas?
