internet security and anonymity

i'm looking to secure my internet connection. i noticed that there a plenty of free proxies out there but they seem to be slow and i dont think they support p2p.  i was wondering if it would be worth it to sign up for one of those payed supscription security software like https://www.secure-tunnel.com/. this is just for home use, i'm basicly looking for a way to harden my system beyond norton internet security and increase anonymityStart Free Trial
