google search tip needed

WSS 3.0 backup filetype:ppt <------when i type the following in google.com search box it returns all powerpoint slides related to WSS 3.0 backup.

I need the search to exclude urls with microsoft.com  as the domain.
Does anybody know the syntax to do this using google search techniques.Start Free Trial
