The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

firefox 3.0.10 login to netgear fvs318 asks for password 6 times

Asked by rberke in Firefox Web Browser

IE 7 allows me to login in to my netgear fvs318 without any problems. I enter the password once, then I see the netgear GUI which contains about 6 frames.  One on the left, one in the middle, and one on the right, one at the top, one on the bottom etc.

But firefox 3.0.10 asks me for the password for each and every frame.  Once I get into the GUI, I have to enter a password authentication whenever I use a new frame. This is incredibly annoying.

I found a 7 month old link that confirms the problem, and says there is a firefox bug fix for it.  But, I already have the most recent version of firefox, and it still fails.  Does anybody have any ideas how to fix this problem?

By the way, the password screen that I see 7 times, is not the normal netgear password screen.  It is a popup box that looks like this

Authentication Required  (<=== blue title bar for the popup window)

A user name and password are being requested by http://192.168.0.1. The site says: FVS318.

Also, under some circumstances which I don't understand and can't repeat, it takes me to a password change screen with data entry fields for old password,  new password, and new password confirmation. The screen looked like it was entirely unrelated to the router, but it actually changed the router password. It was very confusing, and a little dangerous.
