The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

i get an missing font error when printing a placed pdf file from indesign

Asked by ggc2 in Adobe InDesign Publishing Software, Adobe Acrobat

Hello,

A client gave me an 100 page pdf file on A4 format (210x297mm) which has to be printed on A5 (210x148,5mm) and thermically "bound" in booklets.

Since i had to have extra space left and on the bottom off the page for the "binding process", i placed every single page off the PDF file into an indesign page.

Thanks to positioning the "place frame" this has all the necesarry space for the binding, and this automatically scales the A4 pages to A5 within the placed frame.

When printing the 100 pg indesign document i get an "missing font error" when i come in the print dialog box.

In Preflight, under fonts, all fonts show up "embedded" or "OK".  When i open Type \ find font, all fonts used appear to be missing.

When opening the original PDF in Acrobat Professional, the document properties say under fonts "embedded subset " or nothing behind the used fonts.

I need to know that the pdf will be print exactly as the creator has intended because i need to do a lot of these booklets.

I have no time to manually check a 100 pages for missing or changed fonts.

any suggestions ?

thanks
