Sometimes you'll get someone willing to work for nothing.  

OK now that's new.  Twitter scares me with respect to the fact that I don't want things I do day-to-day to be part of a social network but rather a professional one.  That's why, with the exception of social marketing (i.e. social marketing tweet and like buttons on frugalmule.com), I rarely go to my Facebook or Twitter account.  This is an interesting topic though, especially since someone as experienced as you are is bringing it to my attention.  So that said, how can I do that without making this project part of a social networking profile?

I need to consider doing that, just so I can see what it's about.  I'm logged into my twitter account for the first time in a year or more.  Who'd have known?

I have not a clue how to use the hashtag.  What do I do?

Just use it exactly as written as part of a tweet.  

"hey #lazyweb, can anyone help me design a simple logo tonight?"

I see so "hey #hashtag" makes it private to that group and the conversation doesn't remain public anywhere.  Is that correct?

No, not correct. Assuming you are not protecting your tweets, the hashtag makes the word after the # a searchable term on Twitter. So I wanted Wordpress help, I would add a hash to Wordpress to get #wordpress in the tweet.

There are people out there who use these hashes to keep their Twitter organized. #lazyweb is Twitter shorthand for "I know this is pretty easy but I need the help anyway" and there are a lot of people who have that as a saved search.

But it is public.  Goes out over your twitter name.  Once you connect with someone and follow each other, you can go private via Direct Messages and go into detail.

That's what I didn't want.  I'll delete it and hope that some other experts will chime in here.
