The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

SSL not working on IIS after changeing the hardware - Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Asked by el930692 in Secure Socket Layer (SSL) & HTTPS, Microsoft IIS Web Server, Cisco PIX Firewall

My web server that's runing my web site used to be conected straight to the Internet using a public address on the interface. Since that wasn't the best security practice I recently put the web server behind a firewall so I'm using statinc NAT now on the firewall to translate the global IP to the local IP .

Since I chnaged the ip address on the interface the SSL is not working anymore and everytime I'm trying to access the web site using the https:// I'm getting a blank page in IE with the error message:Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage.

I know the firewall it's not the problem because if I'm trying to open the web site from the web server I'm getting the same results.

I also tested the port number 443 by using this command: "telnet 192.168.219.2 443" and it goes tgrough port 443 it''s not blocked on the server and also on the firewall.

I've renewed the certificate and installed it again on the IIS and still doesn't work. I've restarted the server but that didn't fix it either.
Please help!
