I haven't heard of iContact, but I see a lot of consumer catalog e-mails from vendors using:
.com, currently has a 60-day free trial M/Products / EmailCamp aignManage r.asp index.php, used by small-to-medium sized businesses, offers back-end database connectivity with Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, etc
CampaignerPro from GotCorp.com (moderately pricey, meant for medium-to-large enterprises)
JangoMail (priced about what CampaignerPro charges, but has a poorer user interface) - www.jangomail.com; one of our subsidiaries uses them; their fee is about $150/hour for template development if you're unable to build your own
iBuilder by Veritcal Response, Inc. - www.verticalresponse.com - pretty inexpensive, depends on your monthly email volume. This is a self-service web application that has basic metrics reporting built-in.
Have heard of, but haven't used/demoed:
Constant Contact - http://www.ConstantContact
Soffront - http://www.soffront.com/CR
StrongMail - http://www.strongmail.com/
