adding a slash to this rewrite regex

I have this rewrite rule:
RewriteRule ^awesome/([A-Za-z0-9-\s\@]+)/?$ /store/awesome/product.php?prod=$1

which successfully takes a page pointing to mydomain.com/store/awesome/product-name and sends it to mydomain.com/store/awesome/product.php?prod=product-name

How do I get it to also do that if there's a slash at the end of the entered url - ie: mydomain.com/store/awesome/product-name/

That seems to be working - except its screwing up the paths in the pages...

Like say i'm trying to load this image on the page: image.jpg

If I go to mydomain.com/store/awesome/productName (with no slash at the end) it knows to look in /store/awesome/ and not /store/awesome/productName/

But if I go to mydomain.com/store/awesome/productName/   (with a slash at the end) its trying to load the image from a productName directory which doesn't actually exist... /store/awesome/productName/image.jpg

where did image.jpg come from? it doesn't seem to be part of the rewrite rule if you go to mydomain.com/store/awesome/productName/
what do you want that url rewritten to?

image.jpg is loaded on the page product.php

like so <img src='image.jpg'>

if I go to mydomain.com/store/awesome/productName
it shows it fine with a path of mydomain.com/store/awesome/image.jpg

if i go to mydomain.com/store/awesome/productName/
its a broken image because its trying to load it form mydomain.com/store/awesome/productName/image.jpg

I found a solution  --

I added this to the page:
<base href="http://mydomain.com/store/awesome/" />

The proposed solution is not a solution at the momemnt because the link does show 404 Page Not Found.
Better would be to copy the solution lines to EE and reference to the Author.

Zvonko, there was no reply from the experts after the author's comment. He said he solved it. You didn't object it that time. AS per the cleanup guidelines I suggested like this.

Anyways, only the moderator can decide what to do with this question.

Sorry, I was reading wrong the solution. I looked for the page but the solution is to use the <base href> tag. Sorry for the confusion.
The <base href> tag is the simplest and best solution in this case.
