dynamic data dropdown and list

hello. i have some code for a dynamic dropdown and list. however, i am stuck at trying to populate the list with the correct data. the dropdown selects departments from mysql and the list should display the results from the dropdown. what is happening, is that all data is being returned and not data for each individual dpartment. code below.

what should happen, is the $query_Recordset1 holds the data for the boxes and $query_Recordset2 holds the data for the departments. when a selection in the departments dropdown ($query_Recordset2) is made the list $query_Recordset1 should populate based on the customer login without the page reloading.

$query_Recordset2 tables are: id,code, name
$query_Recordset1 tables are: customer,department,custref

so customers can have many departments but each department is responsible for there own boxes. so i only need data for each department depending on what one is selected. need this sorted urgent. many thanks.Start Free Trial
