The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? ASP reporting EOF/BOF error

The script below is a search page for a telephone directory tool I am trying to create.  It takes two values from the previous page (SearchValue is the value such as a name, SearchCat then determins which field to search on).

When it runs, it just returns the error "Error Type:
ADODB.Recordset (0x800A0BCD)
Either BOF or EOF is True, or the current record has been deleted. Requested operation requires a current record.
/it/champ_v1/search/search1.asp, line 57"

This script works fine in another app we have except I have modified the SQL statement to allow the user to select the search field.

What am I doing wrong?
