The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Lightbox 2 positioning problem

Asked by flatfootflookie in Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), JavaScript, Hypertext Markup Language (HTML)

I am using the Lightbox 2 script found here: http://www.lokeshdhakar.com/projects/lightbox2/

On the page where I found this script, if you click on one of the example pictures, when it opens up, it opens the same distance away from the top of the browser window in all browsers (IE, Firefox, Safari, Opera).  However, I downloaded this script and without making any changes to it, it automatically opens the photos right against the top of the browser window in IE and with some top margin in Firefox.

If I add "top: 100;" to the first line of the CSS file, both browser add that amount, so now IE is opening 100 px away from the top edge, but Firefox is adding that to whatever margin it already has so they still don't open the same distance away.

I know a solution should be easy because the website where I got the script is doing exactly what I want to do.  In IE 6, IE 7 and Firefox 2, the image always opens the same distance away from the top margin.

Please see my link where I am trying this: http://www.willisbuilding.com/Templates/photoalbum-NEW_DESIGN.html

All files are their originals that were downloaded from the Lightbox 2 site.
