The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

IIS Service Unavailable Error

Asked by clickclickbang in Microsoft IIS Web Server, Windows 2003 Server, SBS Small Business Server

Tags: , ,

Experts, I recently installed IIS on Windows Server 2003 and am having some problems.

When attempting to view the \\localhost\ default web site I get: Service Unavailable
(Note that I am NOT using any server side code, I'm just trying to view a .html file with "hello world" in it.)

When looking at the event viewer, I am getting the following errors:

Event Type:      Error
Event Source:      DCOM
Event Category:      None
Event ID:      10016
Date:            1/21/2008
Time:            6:34:30 PM
User:            NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE
Computer:      NEXT-M13D899AL2
Description:
The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
{A9E69610-B80D-11D0-B9B9-00A0C922E750}
to the user NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE SID (S-1-5-20).  This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

I looked at the Component Services tool but wasn't exaclty sure what I should change. The only other point is that I am accessing the server through Remote Desktop. Not sure if that would affect anything. Has anyone had a similar problem?

Thanks for the help!
