I am a techie that has been working in the IT field, in some capacity, since 92 (well, a few years before that if you count my high-school days tinkering with systems and programming).
I am currently working as a Technical Account Manager for Microsoft. With that comes the responsibility that any future answers now are representative of the company. As such, and after speaking with a senior escalation manager, my position is not working as a support engineer with the Exchange product. Since my skillset is changing, I made the decision to retire from the newsgroups as my support might not be as front-line as it once was. You have an amazing set of Experts on EE, and I have enjoyed working with my brothers and sisters in the Exchange TA.
Prior to joining Microsoft, I traveled the United States for about 2 years working as a messaging and migration consultant for an award-winning Microsoft Certified Gold Partner. My concentrations are in Active Directory migrations, architecture, and infrastructure; Microsoft Exchange architecture, clustering, implementation, and migration; and architecture and implementation of Microsoft Office Live Communications Server. I was a Microsoft MVP in Live Communications Server and worked with the Microsoft Exchange MVP team. I worked with the amazing Joe Schurman, with Connected Innovations, on his Professional Live Communications Server book.
Clustering is a new interest (3+ years) as I have recently started worked with enterprise-level clustering products again. These are products such as Microsoft's Clustering Services (MSCS), Veritas VCS, Legato AAM. Live Communications Server is also a new interest (1.5 years). Microsoft has released their LCS product, a standards-based IM server, and it's pretty slick.
Cheers,
Bob
