|*Something about me and software testing
|*************************************************

I'm a specialist in Software Testing. Most of the people thinking that software testing is only finding as much defects as they can do. I'm more the person not to search for as much defects there are, instead to prove that functionality is working. This seems the same still it is a world of difference. There will always be bugs in the system; still a system or functionality can be good enough to start working with.
Software testing is also more then only proving the functionality; it is also the process itself. How can the available means be used in an effective way. Though there are freeware tools and very expensive tools you can use, only as an external consultant is is sometimes hard to get these in the companys environment.

One of my favorite quotes comes from Dorothy Graham: "Automating chaos leads to faster chaos"
In Excel can this be translated to: Why build a macro for simple one time actions which cost about 15 minutes of work when a bad macro can corrupt your code within seconds and takes about hours to restore?

Recently I started a blog related to software testing were I share some thoughts. You might check it out on: http://testconsultant.blogspot.com/

I learned a lot of Excel on EE during the quest searching how I can use Excel and VBA to help me for automating and/or structuring repetitive functions. Excel became during the last years a great tool to help me obtaining information about testing processes and test progress monitoring.

During this quest I learned a lot about programming. This helped me to understand programmers much better. :)

Though I will not be on EE active as I was in the "old" days, I still peak in on a regular basis since I learned a lot of MS Excel trying to help others and there is still a lot to learn.

If you have specific questions you may contact me at: jeroen.rosink at gmail dot com
Keep in mind that communication about questions should go using the EE forum.

I did some quick testing in the duplicate master of Dave (brettdj) which is one of the greatest tools from an EE expert I saw:

|*Here some examples I'm proud I made it work:
|*************************************************
Dynamic Custom menu: http:/Q_22921280.html
Tooltip: http:/Q_21564823.html
Create outlook appointment based on cell value: http:/Q_22867496.html
Store outlook messages based on Date to local drive: http:/Q_22861592.html

|*Some questions I enjoyed working with others from EE are:
|*************************************************
Kevin (Zorvek): http:/Q_21194497.html
Brad (Byundt) : http:/Q_21564823.html
Dave (brettdj) and Brad (Byundt): http:/Q_21070792.html
jeverist (Jim) : http:/Q_22921280.html
Jim provided me great help to make a custom menu working.

And one of the questions I'm proud of working on is captured in a journey description: http://www.kittytours.org/calendarproject/begins.html

Though there are other questions to mention I worked on with Matt, Jaes and both Patrick's and let us not forget Rory, I forgot to bookmark them in my knowledgebase. When the moment will come I shall place examples of them also here.
