I've been working in Software Development for almost 30 years - since I was a teenager back in the 70's (yikes! I'm really dating myself). My focus here on EE has always evolved from desktop software development (Win32, Delphi) to hardcode front-end UI web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript). Web development actually started out as a hobby for me back in 1995, when the web was still in its infancy. But in 1999, I secured a contract to build a huge web site that made me rethink my career, and completely devote it to front-end web development.
Currently, I'm a principal engineer/architect at SuccessFactors (successfactors.com), where we're exploring and delivering full-scale web applications built on a variety of technologies. Of course, my particular skills lend themselves to creating high performance "fat" client solutions implementing the latest in front-end development. It's so cool to be making money with my hobby!
On the more personal side, I'm a guitar freak! I've been playing guitar for longer than I've been programming. I currently run a popular web blog called Guitar Gear (
http://guitargear.org), and share my compositions at ICompositions (
http://www.icompositions.com/artists/GoofyDawg). I welcome you to peruse my sites!
