Full Biography

I am currently the managing director / owner of a mid sized IT consultancy firm which has recently moved into software development in a large way.

I am also keeping myself buisy by working as a Clinical Biochemist in a local hospital in my spare time, which allows me to keep in touch with my scientific roots.

Currently creating a series of Web Services to help reduce the TCO of an aging, and quite diverse set of UNIX and Windows mainframes in various hospital laboratories. Other projects include develpment of a custom laboratory information management system, implimentation management for various UK NHS NPfIT projects and a document / communications management system to ISO9002 and Clinical Pathology Accreditation (CPA UK) specifications.

My main areas of interest are to do with .NET software development and XML Web Services with an emphasis on healthcare and education.

Really enjoying my first looks into the .net framework 2.0 and Visual Studio 2005 betas as MS really seem to have pulled something out of the hat again. The change from VS6 to .net was a huge leap in a very good direction and these seem to be adding the icing to the cake!

If you would like to contact me regarding help on a specific question on Experts-Exchange or for information on M.invent Limited feel free to e-mail me at "experts dash exchange at minvent dot ltd dot uk" and I will get back to you.

My Theory on answering questions is that in the long run a fully working piece of code is of little value... it will just be cut and pasted into your app, great for now, but what about the next time you come across a similar problem or you need to update your app. If given structured advice and good references then you can develop the solution asking for specific help as needed  thereby learning about what you are coding.

**Just Remember:**
There is no such thing as a stupid question... But there are a lot of inquisitive idiots!! LOL

Happy Coding from myself and M.invent Limited!
