I owned my own database development business, Scientific Marketing, operating out of my home in Neenah, WI. I began my business in 1991 after having built up a small stable of database clients while I was a computer salesman for three different computer companies going back to 1983.  I now work for Printron Engravers, Inc., in Neenah, WI, as a 'graphic services programmer'. Before that I was a disk jockey for two Oshkosh, WI, radio stations for six years. I started my professional development career with dBASE II on an IBM PC in either late 1981 or early 1982. I moved on to dBASE III, R:Base (for a short time), Paradox for DOS, Paradox for Windows, and Microsoft Access. I'm a college dropout, but studied math, chemistry, and physics in the two years of college I did attend. I'm a two-time Wisconsin Amateur chess champion (1977 and 1985) though I don't play much anymore. I was a Den Leader, Webelos Leader, Assistant Cubmaster, and Cubmaster in my stepsons' Cub Scout Pack and set up and operate the Pack's Pinewood Derby computer system every year (Commodore 64 and IBM PS/2 Model 30-286!). I was very active on the CompuServe Paradox forum for about 7 years and continue to contribute to the pnews Paradox forums. I found the AccessD e-mail developers' forum a few years ago and Experts-Exchange just last week (12/1/2003). I shot my first eagle in 2002 though I only play about three rounds of golf a year, now. I've dabbled with Stephen Lebans' Access graphic routines (check out www.swerbach.com/serbach/Access/Wolfram.zip for a version of the cellular automata described in Stephen Wolfram's book, "A New Kind of Science"). I'm libertarian and I campaigned pretty hard for Ed Thompson for Wisconsin governor in '02. Also, ask me anything about "The Lord of the Rings." I've read it at least two dozen times.
