I am a software developer with a passion is to apply computer technology in a way that improves people's lives. I apply my passion at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, Washington - an amazing place to work!
I use Visual Studio, .NET, and SQL Server to develop applications and systems which support scientific research aimed at understanding, preventing, and curing cancer, AIDS, and other deadly diseases.
It was here that I was dragged into the quirky world of T-SQL (is this Fortran - what *is* this language?), and I have gained a deep appreciation for its power. It was also here that I learned that VB.NET really is every bit as powerful and expressive as C#. Now I'm trying to become competent at developing web applications - can they really be as user-friendly as smart client applications?
