I've been developing in Visual Basic for 10+ years, and have been developing with Microsoft Access since Access 95. I've moved over to VB.NET almost entirely now, but still do a lot of work in Microsoft Access as well.
In total, over 10 years in the programming field with a solid background in User Interface (UI) design/build, database design/build, software architecture, security, and much more. Have worked with almost all server-type databases, including Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL and Oracle.
I've developed several projects from the ground up, including work for the Naval Research Labs (NRL), Goddard Spaceflight Center (GFSC), and Swales/ATK Aerospace in conjunction with several spaceflight projects including the LRO, GLAST, SECCHI, and THEMIS projects currently underway at our nation's spaceflight centers. I've also developed business-class applications for small-to-large businesses in various industries, and have assisted or consulted on hundred of other projects.
I have developed complete line-of-business applications for various industries. These applications included utilities for Dispatching, Inventory Control, Customer Relationship Management, Sales, AR/AP, and Invoicing, just to name a few.
My latest area of interest has been in Project Management, with special emphasis on Research and Development departments. I also am very involved in contracting and trades industries (HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Auto Repair, etc) and Financial areas.
Lately been getting a lot experience in the major ERP/MRP markets, and it's a fascinating environment. I'm working as a contractor for Exact Software for the Jobboss program now, and provide outside services for their clients, building utilities and add-ons to enhance the Jobboss software program.
I specialize in full project development but do quite a lot of "project rescue" work. My favority hobby is playing with my grandson Trey. He's the coolest little dude in the entire world, and will one day grow up to change the entire world!! He is a monster on my Asus EEE pad tablet, and I'm amazed at what he can do with it.
My other favority hobby is competition barbecue cooking. My wife (Cindy) and I travel the countryside as Smoke Shack Barbecue. We compete mostly on the Memphis Barbecue Network circuit, where we have been a Top 10 Team there for the past 4 years.
I also enjoy reading and cooking, good beers, and spending time with my wife and family.
