Hello -
I'm currently the Director of an engineering division specializing in HW/SW development and integration for government test programs including laboratory build-up, facility development, system-of-systems integration, and mobile computing. That being said - these days I do more "managing" than what I consider the real work - including developing briefing charts, attending meetings, designing, planning, etc - and oh....the spreadsheets. I have become educated in Excel for the sake of budgeting, planning, and generally making my life easier.
In my former life (i.e. before management), I was a software engineer, but sadly, now I can barely spell "vi". So, to get my technical fix, I started answering questions on EE. It's nice to be able to quickly solve a problem sinceI rarely have the time for long, complex projects.
