Why on earth did you come here? Expecting some great personal wisdom?
Ummm, okay then: all the answers are here:
http://www.headbank.co.uk/Here are a couple of sensible rules I like to live by:
1 - Don't run your computer with an Administrator-level account, except when you're doing administrative tasks. This really helps to keep pests and breakages off your computer. Windows ME or older - you don't have this option, so upgrade or switch to Linux. Don't be afraid, trust me on this.
2 - Like sending group emails? Use the BCC line for all those addresses, not CC. Your friends don't need to know all each other's addresses, and there's less chance of them falling into spammers' hands.
3 - Avoid getting your email address printed on any web page anywhere, unless you're ready for a lot of spam.
4 - Don't reply to spam, unless it is something you signed up for and has a privacy policy valid under its host country's govenment. The real (unsolicited) spam will stop if people stop replying. Want a bigger ****? Go see a doctor.
5 - Take personal responsibility for your computer's security. If you don't know how, take advice. If your computer is being used by wrongdoers as a zombie weapon of crime, then in my book you're an accessory to that crime.
ALL NEW AUTO-REFRESH! NO SERVER REQUIRED!
Want to have the web-page of your choice refresh itself periodically? Save the following into a bookmark, if you dare:

Oh yeah, from time to time I answer questions in the HTML, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, JavaScript and PHP TAs.
That's probably why you're here.
If you're here for any other reason ... it ain't my baby, girl!
