Physics was my first love but  I left it 30 years ago and switched to programming.  It was when computers were still made of transistors and core memories, programs were punched on cards, and fortran only had arithmetic IFs.  I learnt fortran, cobol, assembly languages, Basic, Pascal, C, C++, java, Modula II, HTML, JSP, SQL, XML; worked UNIVAC, IBM, HP, Siemens, Prime, Digital, Sun, Macintosh, PC; done development, management, documentation, training, maintenance, quality, consulting, SPI; implemented SDLC, X.25, 802.6, ATM; lived and worked in 9 cities of Italy, Germany, Australia, France, Switzerland; can speak English, Italian, German, French.

With every passing year I found it always more difficult to put up with the narrowmindedness and overall incompetence of my bosses, and, I must say, also with their increasing lack of integrity.  That's why at the beginning of 2002 I founded my own company.  I can't say that it has been easy, but at least I don't need to put up with any arbitrary decision from above.

Despite so many years spent in computing, science is still closer to my heart than engineering.  That's why I always find some time to answer Math & Science questions.  From my name you will have understood that I am a trekkie (actually, a trekker).  What more can I say:
