Personal Description
I think both programming languages are ok. Visual basic(visual programming) is more easier than Delphi because delphi is character based like turbo pascal, another excellent product. With visual basic, the interfaces of your forms or whatever are much easier to do because you just have to draw or make the interfaces then provide them with certain codes to make those buttons work. Whereas with delphi, you definitely have to program the interfaces as well the commands of those interfaces which is very time consuming. What do you want to do with your project, create as many interfaces or more functions? Visual basic aims to provide the user with an interface that is easy to use. Using the visual interface, the programmer designs the user interface visually instead of writing codes.
Features of visual basic would include: a) the editions of visual basic that comes in three editions like the standard/learning edition which comes with all the tools required to build a windows application; a.1) the professional edition includes advanced features for internet compatibility; a.2)enterprise edition that provides tools for client/server programming; b)programming language - it is a windows development tool,provides graphical environment that is a point and click environment, programming language used is is vb script w/c is compiler based, online help, provides for sophisticated error handling. and c)development interface - has an integrated development environment(IDE) that integrates all the aspects of programming required by the programmer. The IDE comprises of the menus, form window, code window, project explorer window, properties window and tool box. Tool box contains an array of essential controls and highly customizable too. The extra controls are available as addins from various software companies. These controls enhance the capabilities of VB and can perform a variety of tasks as handling email,making webpages and creating spreadsheets.
