I've been interested in computers and programming since the days of the ZX Spectrum. I took a bit of a detour through an Electrical and Electronic Engineering degree (BEng), but I took up programming full-time shortly after graduating in 1991. Since then I've been employed as a Windows programmer, working mostly in C but with some Visual BASIC experience. Recently I've had the task of administering our mixed Mac/Windows network, and I also get the job of fitting hardware upgrades to our PCs when necessary.

I've built a couple of dozen PCs from piles of bits, upgraded all the hardware in my home PC, and dabbled with Linux in my spare time.
