==========================
Over the past decade, I have devoted tens of thousands of hours working as a Community Service Volunteer at Experts-Exchange. I participated in all four EE Core Conferences. My suggestions have been valued and often implemented; for instance, (ironically) I was the first to propose a Community Service certification to be displayed in the Member Profile.
For many years, I've been a valuable asset to the EE Community. I was among the first "Cleanup Volunteers" (I coined the term) and I was the very first Zone Advisor in 2003. Since 2008, I have spent most of my waking hours working to jump-start and improve the EE Articles System -- a key element in the future success of EE. I was a primary and highly-valued tester on the beta system. Early on, I wrote dozens of EE Articles -- to prime the pump and to illustrate how a high-quality EE Article should look. And I continued to produce until I have now published 100 articles on this site. As a purely altruistic exercise, I wrote a series of How-To guides to help EE Members learn their way around the site.
I did all of that GLADLY, because I LOVE this Community.
Yet today, all of my Community Service certifications -- EARNED for service going back nearly ten years -- have been removed from my profile, as if I had never participated.
The reason?
Surely there must be a VERY GOOD reason to rewrite history and wipe out a valued community member without discussion and (so far) without review by EE Management. Nope. Such actions can be taken out of bias, spite, or vindictiveness. That is NOT how civilized people should behave.
I have tried and failed to correct this egregious wrong. EE lives -- and thrives -- because of the efforts of its community volunteers. We should be treated like real people. We should be shown gratitude and even respect. EE Management needs to provide some oversight of its administrators, and a public review process needs to be implemented.
