Hi -
This is an update (after 5 years it is about time!). I am no longer full time with my old organisation and have set up on my own as an independent SEO/SEM consultant. I still use my old office occasionally but most of the time I am working on selected projects that interest me.
The SEO industry has changed a lot in five years. There are now more rip off merchants than ever, often the only work they do is issue an invoice and collect a check once a month. Their clients are not seeing the results they had been expecting and many never get a refund. I know of one SEO company that has 65 telephone sales staff and 3 SEOs.
70% of my work in the last year has been with clients who have previously worked with another SEO company and who either got scammed or were cheated in some way.
It's a jungle out there - be careful!

Hi -
I am a researcher in the field of e-marketing and search engine optimization. My organisation has many well known corporate clients and I operate as part of a team formulating and implementing the clients e-commerce and e-marketing strategies.
When I have time I like to try and help out by answering questions in the Online Marketing or Web Development area of Experts Exchange.
I hope to assist by responding with a relevant answer that is specific to the question.
I do not like answers that require the questioner to visit a list of URLs that often contain considerable misinformation and are not current.
I am not concerned with the accumulation of points and just enjoy helping people understand a complex and fast changing subject.
