Full Biography

Self-taught computer nut.  Started out playing Lemonade on the school's 1979 Integer BASIC only black-case Apple][ in 5th grade with a 7" b&w tv for a monitor.  By high school I was hacking AppleDOS forcing the computer teacher to boot to my environment to grade our assignments and was getting comfortable working with raw disk data sector by sector as well as the big-bad 3 register 6502 Assembly Language.  Then I went to college, did a bunch of drugs, bailed out to start a band, got married way too early, worked crappy no-experience non-techy jobs and missed everything from the Mac CX (1st color Mac if memory serves) to 486's before getting back into computers, out of my marriage, and back to Earth.  Still broke and wanting to learn C, I searched the internet for a free C compiler.  Lo and behold I was introduced to Linux.  Installed Slack 3.0 from floppies lol.  That was it.  I was hooked.  Took a job as a one man IT dept for a small CPA firm and got outsourced to our accounting clients for computer work.  I do mostly networking and security-related stuff but have done anything form setting up point-of-sale/inventory control systems to consulting on hardware and software purchases depending on needs, budget, and desire.  From a junker dual 30MHz sparcstation 10 through 440MHz Ultra's, Alpha EV4's through EV6's, x86's from 486/40 w/ no math coprocessor to 3GHz/800fsb boxes, WYSE terminals to G4 macs, from Linux to BeOS to OSX to Open/Free/NetBSD's, win9x to 2k3, and the occasional dabble in rouge oddball OS's, Iv'e got pretty much a geekfest basement.

Update...I moved out of state and trashed a bunch of the antique hardware (still somewhat in disbelief that I found it acceptable to chuck a working EV6 into a dumpster).  Currently setting up a sweet data center for the next 18-24 months.

Anyway.....email is wedgenix at gmail...put EE in the subject or it may get missed/skipped over.
