I'm hardly an expert, but willing to help out and share my thoughts and experiences.  Sure points help me, but I'd rather see your problem resolved than get points.

Having said that....

If you have a quick question, you'll probably get a quick answer.  If you are in a hurry, we certainly don't want to waste your time.  

Sometimes I'll just post a link to a site with text relevant to your question.  Please don't confuse the posting of a link as a lazy/quick response - it is intended to help you, and instead of pasting the text from that site, I would rather that you look at that site for additional information.

Please close your questions!  Nothing is more exciting than finding an existing question to the exact problem you are having.  Nothing is more frustrating than finding that the question is still open.  It just takes a minute, but could save the next person hours!

On closing that question - keep in mind that you aren't just rewarding those that have helped you, but you are pointing a future asker in the right direction. So please choose the right answer, and not one just to close the question.
