Personal Description
I've been playing with infrastructure since 1999 for a variety of companies (in a mixture of contract and permanent roles). I'm currently based in central London, employed as a Senior Systems and Network Engineer. I'm primarily responsible for design and maintenance of all the MS back-office infrastructure, including AD, Exchange, Lync, SQL server, IIS, and so on. I have a cross-over to the networking side, covering Cisco ASA, PIX, and Catalyst switches, all soon to be replaced with Juniper SRX firewalls and E-Series switches.
My specialist skills, those with greatest depth, are:
Directory Services
Network protocols (DNS, DHCP, SysLog, and so on)
Scripting - From managing AD to writing my own network tools, as long as I don't have to build a GUI
On the scripting side I favour PowerShell, but I'm also more than familiar with VbScript and Perl. If I'm programming C# is my preferred language.
