I am a retired electrical power engineer with a long established interest in science, science fiction, technology and computers.
I have some experience with MSDOS 3.3 - 6.2, Windows 3.0, 3.1, 3.11, 95, 98, 98SE, ME, 2000, XP, CP/M, LDOS514, TRSDOS6
I have written programmes in ICL FORTRAN, Object Pascal 5.5, Delphi 4, Visual Basic (MS Access), Object Pal (Paradox 7), 6502 assembler and machine code, Z80 assembler and machine code, MS BASIC.

At present I want to become comfortable with Linux and hopefully transfer most of my routine work to Linux from Windows XP. Like many others (I think), I don't like the smell of Microsoft's future plans for hardware, software and the internet. WGA, DRM and TPM are significant topics.
